Owner & Principal Financial Advisor
I am a financial educator. I come to the financial planning world through a relatively nontraditional route. After earning a bachelor’s degree in music and a master’s degree in education, I was a public school teacher for several years. In 2011 Dennis Graves (president of RMFD) approached me and invited me to join Rocky Mountain Financial Designs as vice president. I now manage the Southlands branch of the company.
My approach tofinancial planning reflects my experience communicating complex information to “challenging” audiences. I still see myself as an educator, though of a different subject, to a more receptive audience! My goal is to help individuals, families, and businesses achieve the financial stability that can bring security to their lives.
Along the way, I built my own “team”, as my wife Amy and I had five fantastic boys. Amy and I celebrated 20 years of marriage on August 7th.
I maintain my love of music and family. I love to take my boys camping and boating. I volunteer in the local middle and high school bands. I am also very active with our Boy Scout troop, where I volunteer as a scoutmaster, taking boys on adventure trips into mountains, down rivers, and everywhere else I can challenge them to do difficult things.
